The island of Vir is an example of excellent management of a tourist destination. A mecca for family holidays, with mostly private accommodation, it attracts more visitors every year. The advantages are numerous, to name but a few:<\/p>\n

Very beautiful mainly sandy and rocky beaches, partly located by pine groves with crystal clear sea, ideal for family holidays.<\/p>\n

Almost 2450 hours of sunshine a year, which equates to almost 300 days of sunshine, allows tourists to enjoy a good holiday even outside the high season.<\/p>\n

Numerous bays and coves with a harbour and anchorage allow sailors to land on their way to the chain of 300 islands and islets, among which is the Kornati National Park. Apart from swimming, surfing, sailing, scooter riding\n and other water sports activities, hikers can admire the panoramic view from the top of Bandira (112 m), which encompasses the entire island of Vir, the nearby islands and Velebit (1750 m).<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Thanks to its ideal location on the Adriatic, Vir is an excellent starting point for excursions to the national parks of Paklenica with its beautiful canyons, Kornati with its 200 islands and islets, Krka Waterfalls and Plitvice Lakes.<\/p>\n

The ancient Croatian royal town of Nin, which boasts the smallest cathedral on the island - the Holy Cross, and 3000-year-old Zadar, with its many historical sights, are also nearby.\n
